Memphis Belle

"Did you think it sounded good?" she asked.

"Yeah."

It wasn't even my first choice. I had gone in wanting to try out an ES-335 just like Larry Carlton played on all those Steely Dan hits (Bodhisatva!), or an Elitist Sheraton like Wayne's. The 137 was almost an afterthought. But as soon as I plugged it in, I knew it was a good guitar. It feels like it *wants* you to play it. The instrument gets out of the way and lets music come out of your fingers. So, yeah, it sounded good.

"I think if it'll make you happier, you should get it now."

"I dunno... it's expensive..."

"You know you want to."

Just then the sales guy came out for a cigarette and saw us outside.

I asked him, "Does it come with a case?"

"Oh, yeah. A really nice one."

And she goes, "Dude just GET it." *shove*

"Ok. What the fuck, right?"

Or something like that. I bought it. We went home and got drunk and took turns playing it all night.

She's an enabler. I love her.
